Worst Theory
-
Expect the worst and the worst will never happen to
you, is the "Expect the Worst Theory".
The
first step of being optimistic is to access the
situation at its worst. Once at home with the worst,
everything else will be an improvement. Then onwards
you will have only one way to go, i.e. up.
Pessimism, of course is a retardant, but optimism is
a killer. But when you have already accessed the
worst, praying and hoping that the worst will never
happen to you - at the same time enjoying the
sunshine of today, waiting for the dawn of tomorrow,
fully aware of the fact that life is running short -
then you are an 'expecting the worst optimist' and
it really works.
